The WMA file extension is short for Windows Media Audio, which is an audio file container and serves as an audio codec too. This format is native to the popular Windows Media Player, the in-built multimedia player of Windows operating systems. WMA was developed by Microsoft as an alternative to the popular MP3 and RealAudio codecs. The regular WMA format contains lossy audio data but there is a lossless version, “WMA Lossless” is available too. Widely used for voice content and audio recordings, WMA offers great compatibility with all major multimedia players and editing software.
We designed Creator NXT to open a wide range of file formats, including all of the following.
