AVCHD stands for “Advanced Video Coding High Definition”, which is a video file format that mostly contains digital recording and high-definition video. This video format was created combinedly by Sony and Panasonic in 2006 to be used on their high definition camcorders. A combination of H.264 video codec and Dolby AC-3 audio is packaged into an MPEG transport stream is the core of this format, also having some constraints set around the camcorders. The additional user-friendly features like menu navigation, simple slide shows and subtitles, make this video format perfect for media presentation.
