AuthorScript Video BD is built around a set of C++ libraries that enable all functionality needed at each stage of the production process:
- Authoring:
- build a project structure (i.e. Streams, Clips, PlayLists, Movie Objects, etc.), including movies and both timed and browsable slideshows;
- populate the structure with references to media (video, audio, and stills);
- add Presentation Graphics (PG), Interactive Graphics (IG), and Subtitle (TextST) streams;
- define Button and Movie Object navigation;
- define BD-J objects and integrate JAR applications.
- Multiplexing:
- combine referenced source asset streams into the HDMV MPEG-2 transport stream format required for BDMV playback.
- Formatting:
- arrange presentation content and navigation information into a file and directory structure (disc image) readable by hardware and software BDMV or AVCHD players.
- Writing:
- record a BDMV or AVCHD disc image to BD-R or BD-RE media, to a folder, or to and ISO file;
- BDMV may also be output to a BDCMF file set;
- AVCHD may also be recorded to DVD media (DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW).
