Roxio Names William E. Growney Jr. General Counsel
Santa Clara, California - (May 13, 2002) - Roxio, Inc., The Digital Media Company, provider of the best selling digital media software in the world, announced today that William E. Growney, Jr. has been promoted to General Counsel.
"Bill was an integral part of our spin-off from Adaptec in May 2001 and our recent acquisition of MGI Software Corp.," said Chris Gorog, president and CEO of Roxio. "His legal expertise and pragmatism have been invaluable to our executive team as we've grown over the past year."
Mr. Growney works closely with executive staff and business development teams to negotiate potential corporate partnerships, acquisitions and customer contracts. In addition, Mr. Growney advises Roxio's executive staff and board of directors on general legal issues and corporate and securities laws and coordinates the efforts of Roxio's outside legal counsel.
Mr. Growney joined Roxio as Director of Legal Affairs in April 2001 from the law firm of Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin
& Hachigian, LLP. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in both
Political Science and Economics from University of California, Berkeley
and a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
