Audible and Roxio Partner to Enable Consumers to Burn CDs of Premium Spoken-Word Audio
Milpitas, California - (March 4, 2002) - Roxio, (Nasdaq:ROXI), the Provider of The Best Selling Digital Media Software in the World, and Audible, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADBL), the Internet's leading provider of premium, spoken word audio for PC-based listening or mobile playback, announced today that the two companies have partnered to add CD burning functionality to audible.com's premier audio service as well as to distribute and market the Audible® service via Roxio's extensive retail and Web distribution channels.
Customers will be able to burn CDs of Audible's downloadable spoken audio titles, with content ranging from audio editions of The New York Times, Scientific American, Forbes, and Fast Company, to original programming from Robin Williams, to best selling audiobooks by John Grisham, Stephen King, Anne Rice, Stephen Ambrose, and other authors.
