Roxio to Provide CD Burning Technology for pressplay Music Subscription Service
Milpitas, California - (December 11, 2001) - Roxio, Inc. (Nasdaq: ROXI), the Digital Media Company, announced today it has been chosen to provide CD recording capabilities for pressplay's music subscription service.
In addition to providing CD burning technology for pressplay, Roxio will be a pressplay affiliate, offering consumers digital music on 'Roxio pressplay'. As an affiliate, Roxio will introduce its
customers to 'Roxio pressplay' through Roxio's web site, http://www.roxio.com,
advertising programs, retail products and other marketing promotions.
Pressplay plans to launch its service in the United States before
the end of the year through Roxio and other affiliates, including
MP3.com, MSN and Yahoo!. Pressplay will enable its members to stream,
download and burn music. Pressplay's vast online catalog will include
music from the world's three largest music companies and numerous
independent labels.

be able to purchase a premium CD burning plug-in, available from
Roxio, within the service. Customers who want more burning functionality,
such as photos and video, can upgrade to Roxio's full-featured Easy
CD Creator 5 Platinum software package available at http://www.roxio.com
or at local computer retail outlets. Pressplay customers who already
own Roxio's Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum will be able to burn CDs
at full speed when using the pressplay service. The Roxio CD burning
functionality in pressplay will be available in all versions of
the pressplay service, regardless of which affiliate the consumer
uses.
