Adaptec's Toast Ignites CD Recording for Maximum Speed

MILPITAS, Calif., May 16, 2000 - Adaptec, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADPT), the global leader in innovative storage solutions, today announced their award-winning CD recording software for Macintosh, Toast 4 Deluxe, now offers native support for FireWire CD recorders. The new Toast 4.1 is ideal for multimedia enthusiasts who need a high-speed method of storing images from their digital cameras or video camcorders.

Internet audio enthusiasts will appreciate Toast 4.1's improved MP3 decoding technology that speeds up the conversion of MP3 files to standard audio CD with improved sound quality. With the support for FireWire, Toast customers will see a doubling of their CD burning speeds and can now take advantage of 12x CD recorders.
